The JuggerBot 3D
Material Card
Frequently asked Questions
Are Material Cards required to run a Tradesman Series™ printer?
No, printers can still be set up and operated using a Custom Material Card. Tradesman Series™ users will still be able to utilize our Bead Characterization System and Bead Area Mode regardless of what material they choose to process.
What is a Material Card?
JuggerBot 3D’s Material Cards are digital products that leverage material and process data to bridge skill-gaps, streamline production, and improve reliability when operating pellet-fed 3D printers. They are available for use on the Tradesman Series™ P3-44, exclusively.
How do Material Cards enable production workflows?
Material Cards are built using JuggerBot 3D’s Material Testing & Assessment procedure, our Bead Characterization System, and Bead Area Mode. The Material Card ties into our Material Database, which serves as a directory of all Material Card information and production logs. This creates standard operating procedure that production teams can lean on to improve printer outcomes (namely reliability and yield).
What is the Bead Characterization System?
The Bead Characterization System (BCS) is a sophisticated calibration process that collects critical data points and characterizes the extrusion path. The BCS calibration procedure is accessible through the JuggerBot 3D’s Control Center located at on Tradesman Series™ work station. The BCS allows operators to calibrate current Material Cards information, establishing a calibration history log within the Material Database, and also allows operators to calibrate and collect data for use of a Custom Card when attempting to process new materials.
Does the operator have the ability to adjust any Material Card settings?
Yes, even when using a Material Card, the operator can make slight adjustments to the parameters at their discretion. Operators are capable of saving these new adjustments for future use by performing a Bead Characterization System (BCS) and creating a new calibration log that’s stored within the Material Database.
Are Material Cards built for specific materials?
Yes, each Material Card is developed for a specific type of material, from a specific supplier. Tradesman Series™ operators are not limited to processing the materials available via Material Cards and can develop parameters for the material of their choice, from their supplier of choice using a Custom Material Card.
What Material Cards are currently available?
You can learn more about the Material Cards we have available, and those in the process of being built by contacting our team.
What if a Material Card is not available for the material I need?
Do not worry! JuggerBot 3D will continue building new Material Cards, and offers services to development Material Cards specific for your needs. Let us know what materials you’d like have by filling out the form on our Material Card page.
